Overseas Business Executive
1. About Us
NanoFrontier is a research-driven startup that provides end-to-end solutions from design to mass production and quality assurance for materials in energy, environment, and pharmaceutical fields, centered around nanoparticle generation technology through reprecipitation method developed over many years at Tohoku University. We also provide nanoparticle manufacturing services and technology licensing, rapidly advancing joint research and PoC with manufacturers and academic institutions in Sendai (main base) and Tokyo (collaboration base).
2. Role & Responsibilities
With increasing inquiries and joint research/PoC requests from overseas, we now need a system to advance initial export and contract processes while collaborating with local partners at a practical level simultaneously. This position will handle account development in target regions (North America/Europe/Asia major countries), English translation of technical materials and proposal creation, standardization of estimates, pricing tables, and SLAs, basic import/export and SDS/GHS compliance, and exhibition, demo, and PoC operations (sample shipping to evaluation follow-up). We’re looking for someone who understands both chemistry (materials) and customer operations, and can create a sellable state.

3. Key Responsibilities
- Market & Account Development: Define ideal customer profiles for target countries and create candidate lists. Organize challenges, evaluation criteria, and decision-makers in initial interviews
- Proposals & Materials: Create/update English proposals and technical materials, develop copy for use cases and case studies
- Estimates & Terms: Operate pricing tables, estimate templates, SLAs, and NDA/MSA drafts (collaborate with legal and management review)
- PoC Operations: Determine sample specifications, arrange shipping and customs clearance, follow up on measurements/evaluations, compile results
- Basic Regulatory & Trade Compliance: Primary classification of Incoterms, export control, SDS/GHS, and HS codes (collaborate with experts)
- Partner Collaboration: Research, schedule, and conduct initial evaluation of agents, SIs, joint research partners, and contract manufacturers
- Exhibitions & Demos: Prepare for overseas exhibitions, design demos, operations during exhibitions, post-event follow-up
- CRM & Knowledge: Organize cases, estimates, contracts, and SLAs in CRM/Notion, create reusable templates
- Internal Collaboration: Align delivery dates, quality, and costs with R&D, manufacturing, QA/EHS, legal, and FP&A
4. Requirements, Skills & Experience
Required
- Alignment with NanoFrontier’s business and mission
- English: Business level (reading, writing, meetings, email correspondence)
- Experience in industrial materials/equipment/chemicals B2B operations (sales, business development, alliances, etc.)
- Practical sense of proposals, estimates, and basic contracts (NDA/MSA)
- Business use of Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, etc.
Preferred
- Basic knowledge of chemical/material regulations and import/export (Incoterms, SDS/GHS, HS codes, export control)
- Experience in overseas exhibition planning and operations, agent/partner operations
- CRM operations (HubSpot/Salesforce, etc.) and playbook development experience
- Technical document reading comprehension (English), two or more languages (e.g., English + Chinese/German)

5. Location & Work Style
- Location: Sendai or Tokyo (negotiable) / international travel required
- Employment: Full-time/Contract/Outsourced (negotiable)
- Work style: Hybrid (3 days in office recommended)
- Work hours: Full flex (core time 10:00-16:00)
